Swift was quoted on the AT&T Blue Room site as saying that she had originally written the song "the day after she won the CMA Horizon Award...about being on a small record label in this huge music industry." She also said it has an "alternative meaning for competition...the Olympics is either make it or break it, and this song encompasses that."[1]
Swift also performed this song at the 2010 Academy of Country Music Awards.
