It's all edible. We named it 'Candyfornia' instead of 'California', so it's a different world," she said. "It's not just like, 'Oh, let's go to the beach and throw a party and then shoot a music video!' It's more like, 'Let's put us California Gurls in a whole different world!"[28]

Starshell - SuperLuva

Artist Info:

Starshell is an accomplished songwriter who has co-penned several songs, most notably “Love Lockdown” for Kanye West, and “I Can See in Color” and “Closer” for Blige. The former was featured in the Oscar-nominated film, “Precious,” while the later is one of numerous highlights on Blige’s latest album, “Stronger With Each Tear.”

Now, though, Starshell has her sights set on making the transition from writing songs for others to singing her own songs. Witness “Superluva,” the first single from Starshell’s as-yet-untitled debut album. Produced by Fernando Garibay, the feisty electro-pop jam sounds right at home alongside recent #1s by Lady Gaga, Beyoncé and Ke$ha.

“It’s about the 80s, about going out and having fun,” Starshell says of “Superluva.” The song is the perfect soundtrack for Starshell, who describes herself as “a girl who wants to have fun.”

Inna - Love

Song Info:

"Love" is a song performed by female Romanian recording artist Inna. The song was written and produced by native dance music trio Play & Win. It acts as her second single released from her debut studio album, Hot. It was released on digital format through Roton and Ultra Records and across various countries in Europe and the United States. However, the release of "Love" has been very limited so far - where it has mainly acted as an airplay single and only receiving an official full single release in Romania, Spain and the United States to-date. Most countries in which the song was released, the Play & Win radio edit was used as the official single version. It is an up-tempo song with prominent electronic music and house music characteristics. The lyrics evoke a meaning of how complicated situations of love can become.

The single has so far garnered success for Inna in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Romania where it became her second consecutive top twenty hit. In Romania and Poland, "Love" outperformed previous single "Hot" on the charts. In the Netherlands it was released as Inna's third single, after rumours that 10 Minutes would be released first.

Music Video Info:

The music video for "Love" leaked onto the internet in early April 2009 and was later released onto the YouTube channel of Roton Records on May 7, 2009. In the music video for "Love", Inna is in a gym. Some scenes are played in slow motion. The premise is the battle between Good (White) and Evil (Black). The video starts with a confluence of two flowing water fluxes, one is white, the other one is black. In the next image, a ballerina who is doing bribes in the air. In the next scene, Inna appears wearing a white short with a black belt and a long white veil. Then we are introduced to a skilled boxer who is beating a punching bag. Later in the video a boy is making a rustle. In the rest of the music video the scenes with Inna singing next to an old wall, the scenes with the ballerina and the ones with the boxer are succeeding each other. In the end of the video Inna is running away among the other people previously presented. She seems unhappy because of their violence.

Robyn - Indestructible

Song Info:

"Indestructible" is a song by Swedish recording artist Robyn, taken from her seventh studio album Body Talk. It was released as the album's lead single on 1 November 2010 in Sweden and one day later in the United States. It was written by Robyn and Klas Åhlund, and produced by the latter. An acoustic version of the song was present as the last track on Body Talk Pt. 2, released in September 2010. According to Robyn, "Indestructible" describes how meeting new people and falling in love can be scary and fun at the same time.

The song was met with generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its production and Robyn's songwriting. The accompanying music video shows scenes of couples having sex, and cutscenes of Robyn wearing a special designed dress featuring tubes with colored liquid. The song reached number four on the Sverigetopplistan chart, becoming Robyn's ninth top ten hit in her native country. It charted moderately elsewhere, reaching number thirteen in Denmark and number twenty-one on the UK Dance Chart. Robyn performed the song at the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize Concert.

Music Video Info:

The music video for "Indestructible" was directed by Nils Ljunggren and Max Vitali.[21] It premiered via Robyn's official Myspace account on 28 October 2010.[22] In the video, Robyn wears a "tube dress" with plastic pipes around her body that are periodically filled with colored fluids. The dress was designed by Australian body architecture artist Lucy McRae. Robyn recalled that it was "a very complicated machine." She said, "So the machine is actually powered by drills. It looked like 'MacGyver' on the set. ... It's very much about, like, giving almost a physical experience of what it feels like to be on a dance floor or fall in love, whether it's blood or endorphins or other body fluids."[1] She also spoke of the video's theme with MTV News, saying,

Robyn wearing the "tube dress" in the music video for "Indestructible"

"We just wanted to make a video about sex, but in a way that wasn't so clichéd. [...] And [the video] is made to give you a picture of what sex really is, which I think is something that's very hard to do, because sex is everywhere all the time, but very rarely is it made out to be something real."[1]

Stone Sour - Say You'll Haunt Me

Song Info:

"Say You'll Haunt Me" is the first single from alternative metal band, Stone Sour's third album Audio Secrecy which was released on September 7, 2010 via Roadrunner Records.[1] The song was released to the public on July 6, 2010.[2] It is the band's first single in 3 years. The song has received radio airplay on several major rock and metal stations nationally. The digital single was released through Amazon & iTunes on July 20, 2010.

Music Video Info:

The band has shot a music video, directed by Paul R. Brown.[3] The video premiered on July 27, 2010.[4]

The video begins with a car pulling into a creepy alleyway with Corey Taylor being pulled out by his bandmates. He is then lead upstairs to be strapped into a chair and danced on by a woman who seems to have an aggression towards him. As this is happening, ghostly images of the band perform in front of each member, the video also features these images solo inside an abandoned warehouse including Taylor. Taylor is then blindfolded and then a weird screen is brought out. The blindfold is then taken off, revealing it is the woman from before. At the end of the solo and the final "everything to" someone presses the button and Corey is then seen singing on the screen. The lady panics from this sight and the rest of the band have smiles on their faces. At the end of the video the band leaves the lady tied. Right before it fades to black, the screen says "What did you see?" This was part of a contest that the band held to see the concept of the video, which had a code which read "I am you" which explains the fact Corey was replaced with the woman.

The video uses the album version, not the short radio edit.

Escape The Fate - Issues

Song Info:

"Issues" is the first official single by Escape the Fate off of their 2010 self-titled album.[2][3] It was released as a digital single on iTunes September 14, 2010.[4] However, the song leaked early via KROQ Radio on September 9, 2010.[5][6] This song debuted at Number 48 on America's Music Charts for Active Rock,[7] currently #27 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and debut #32 on both the Billboard Alternative Songs chart, and #39 on the Billboard Rock Songs chart.

Music Video Info:

The music video was released on September 28, 2010 and was directed by P.R. Brown. The video presents a narrative that is told out of chronology. It features the band members playing in Churchlike building. Towards the end of the story (but shown throughout the video) it starts to show a mob of people breaking into the church and attacking all the band members, capturing them. The mob carries Craig, Monte, Max, and Robert outside where they tie Max is seen being tied to a wooden stake, where he is subsequently burned. Monte is tied up in a similar action, however his rope is pulled as he falls in to a lake (Though, in the 'making of' video it is revealed that he was originally meant to be pulled into a pit of spikes). Robert is forced to lean his head against a stump, while a man with axe is implied to have chopped his head off. Meanwhile, Craig is tied to a noose, and is seen barely keeping himself up and breathing by lifting his body up by pushing on a stick with his foot. When the video ends, the stick cracks and breaks, it is implied that the noose chokes Craig.

Maroon 5 - This Love

Song Info:

"This Love" is a song by the American rock band Maroon 5. The song was written by frontman Adam Levine for their debut album Songs About Jane (2002). The track is built around a piano-led strut, which is immediately followed by synth percussion, a repeating guitar sound, and wry falsetto.

The song's lyrics are based on Adam Levine's break-up with a former girlfriend. He revealed that the song was written in the "most emotionally trying time" in his life.[1] He also describes some of the lyrics in the song as sexual.[2] "This Love" was well-received by music critics, who noted the track's musicscape. It was released on January 27, 2004 as the second single off Songs About Jane.

The single entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine's component charts, including reaching the number one spot on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart. The music video was met with controversy, regarding extended intimate scenes between Levine and his then-girlfriend. "This Love" helped Maroon 5 win the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and was the third most played song of 2004. The song won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2006 Grammy Awards, and, to date, is one of Maroon 5's most successful songs.[3]

Music Video Info:

The music video for "This Love" was directed by Sophie Muller. The video combines performance footage from the band in a courtyard in a Mexican soundstage and scenes of Adam Levine parting ways with a woman.[1] According to Levine, the concept behind the music video was based on Prince. "An overt sexuality confuses people, too. That video was a very 'pop star' thing to do."[42]

The music video for "This Love" also features Levine and his then-girlfriend, model Kelly McKee, in a few intimate scenes. The video used creative camera angles, thereby avoiding possible FCC action.[43] A version of the video where a stream of computer-generated flowers cover up more was created for more conservative markets.[44] When asked about the video, Levine said: "It was surprisingly not weird and surprisingly not sexual. It was totally comfortable. I didn't get horny or anything, which was weird since I shot it with my girlfriend."[45]

The video was controversial enough to cause critics to comment on it.[45] Sylvia Patterson of The Daily Telegraph described the video as a "porno-pop video".[42] Bass player Michael Madden, asked to comment on the controversy, said that it was "an absurd over-reaction."[46]

Taio Cruz - Break Your Heart

Song Info:

"Break Your Heart" is a song by British recording artist Taio Cruz. It was written by Cruz and Fraser T. Smith and produced by Smith. The song serves as the lead single from his second album, Rokstarr. It was first released in the United Kingdom and Ireland on 20 September 2009, followed by a release in the United States and other markets in early 2010. The official remix version features American rapper Ludacris; that version was the single released in North American countries. The song, originally penned for Cheryl Cole, is an uptempo R&B song with electro and dance-pop elements, accompanied by Cruz's auto-tuned vocals. The song is lyrically a warning to someone about being a heartbreaker.

The song received mixed to positive reviews, critics commending its infectious sound, but noting that it was generic. The song peaked at number one in Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States, and also within the top ten of many other countries. The accompanying music video features several scenes of Cruz on escapades with different women, including a speedboat compared to classic Diddy and a club scene with Ludacris in the American version.

Music Video Info:

The original music video was filmed in Marbella, Spain in July 2009, including Uzbekistan-born model Nadya Nepomnyashaya with new parts filmed in Miami, Florida in February 2010 to include Ludacris[21] resulting in two versions of the video.[22] The video features Cruz addressing his girlfriend at the beginning of the video, with him she will be heartbroken because he is a heartbreaker, and she is challenging him. Then scenes are shown in several venues, including walking through a city, a club, a beachfront party and a speedboat, and later in room. Ludacris' scenes for the U.S. video feature Cruz and Ludacris in a white concrete backdrop with a flashing light, and a club scene. When asked if an old-school Diddy was an influence on the video, Cruz said, "Probably on some kind of subconscious level. I just love supermodels, I love sunshine, and I love sports cars. And this time we also added a speedboat. So you go the four S’s in there."[5] In an interview with Rap-Up, when talking about the video portraying him as a heartbreaker, Cruz said, "No, not really. I suppose maybe 20%. It was more of just playing a character and having fun, just going out there and making a real cool, fun, cocky video. Not everyone has seen the whole plot of the video, but it’s actually myself and my girlfriend both going out with the intention of breaking everyone’s hearts."
