Human League - Don't You Want Me
"Don't You Want Me" is a single by British synthpop group Human League, released from their album: Dare on 27 November 1981. It is the band's best known and most commercially successful recording to date, and was the Christmas number one in the UK, in 1981, where it sold over 1,400,000 copies, making it the 25th most successful single in UK Singles Chart history.[1] it later topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the US on July 3, 1982 where it stayed for three weeks.
The title is frequently misprinted by the media and by covering artists;[2] the correct song title is "Don't You Want Me"; not "Don't You Want Me Baby", which is the chorus.
Music Video Info:In 1981 record company Virgin were becoming aware that promotional music video was evolving into an important marketing tool, with MTV being launched that year. Because it was agreed that the video for Open Your Heart had looked "cheap and nasty", Virgin commissioned a much more elaborate and expensive promotional video for "Don't You Want Me".
The video for the song was filmed in Slough during November 1981 and has the theme of the filming and editing of a murder-mystery film, featuring the band members as characters and production staff. Due to it being a "making of" video, both crew and camera apparatus appear throughout. It was conceived and directed by filmmaker Steve Barron, and has at its core the interaction between a successful actress (also a 2nd negative cutter) played by Susan Ann Sulley walking out on 'film director' Philip Oakey on a film set. It is loosely based on the film A Star Is Born. Near the end of the video, Wright, who also plays a film editor, has an expression on his face, while the camera pulls back to reveal that the negative room where Oakey, Wright, and Sulley were working in is another set (the camera can be seen in the mirror's reflection).

Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
"Karma Chameleon" is a song by British New Wave band Culture Club, featured on the group's 1983 album Colour by Numbers. The song spent three weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 in 1984, becoming the group's biggest hit and only US number one. "Karma Chameleon" hit number one in sixteen countries worldwide. In the group's home country, it became the second Culture Club single to reach the top of the UK Singles Chart (after "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me"), where it stayed for six weeks in September and October 1983, and became the biggest-selling single of 1983.[1] It is widely regarded as Culture Club's signature song.
Music Video Info:
The "Karma Chameleon" music video was filmed at Desborough Island in Weybridge during the summer of 1983. According to caption, the video is set in Mississippi in 1870, and depicts people in colourful costumes, including dancers in "red, gold and green", waiting on a riverbank. Boy George is dressed in a colourful costume and is depicted singing the title song. A pickpocket is seen wandering through the crowd.
A riverboat, The Chameleon, arrives and people board. A game of cards takes place, as Boy George continues to sing in the background. The pickpocket is discovered cheating and is forced to walk the plank. Throughout the video, black and white people are shown singing and dancing together.
The riverboat used in the video belongs to Turk Launches of Kingston-upon-Thames, and it is still in use, mainly on the Kingston to Hampton Court route during the summer months.[citation needed]

The Jets - Make It Real
"Make It Real" is a song by the American dance-pop sibling group, The Jets, released as a single from their album, Magic, in the spring of 1988 (see 1988 in music).
"Make It Real" became the group's fifth (and, to date, final) top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it spent two weeks at number four in late June and early July in 1988. On the adult contemporary chart, the song became the group's second number-one hit (following "You Got It All" from the previous year). On the R&B chart, "Make It Real" reached number 24.
The B-side of the 7" single is a Spanglish version of "Make It Real" titled "Allá Tu", with lyrics in both English and Spanish; the 12" single also contains a version of the song sung entirely in Spanish, which is also titled "Allá Tu".

Nick Lachey - I Can't Hate You Anymore
"I Can't Hate You Anymore" is a ballad that was released in late 2006 by pop singer Nick Lachey. It is the second single from his second solo album, What's Left Of Me.
Music Video Info:
The video for "I Can't Hate You Anymore" was filmed on June 27, 2006 on a beach in Malibu, California. This date was only a few days before Lachey's divorce from singer-actress Jessica Simpson became final,[1] and coupled with the rainy atmosphere that appears in the video adds further poignancy to the melancholy lyrics of the song. The video premiered on MTV's Total Request Live on July 26, 2006 and debuted on the TRL Countdown Chart at #9 on July 27, 2006.[citation needed]
The music video utilizes a slightly different mixed track than album version. Noticeable differences in this unnamed mix are the rising of the guitar and vocal echos during the second verse. For example, the line "you're not the person that you used to be", "used to be" echos in a following blended effect (not found on the original album release nor UK CD single). This version can only be found in the music video.

Daughtry - September
"September" is the third and final single from Daughtry's second album Leave This Town. This song was co-written by Chris Daughtry and Josh Steely. The mid-tempo ballad is inspired by Chris's childhood memories growing up with his brother in a small town in North Carolina.
"Every time I hear that song it takes me back to my summers in Lasker," Chris says. "I loved growing up there, but I knew I'd have leave to make something of my life." The song's lines, "Yeah, we knew we had to leave this town / But we never knew when and we never knew how / We would end up here the way we are" inspired the album's title.[1]

Justin Bieber - Pray
"Pray" is a song performed by Canadian recording artist Justin Bieber. The song was written by Bieber with Omar Martinez and Adam Messinger and Nasri of The Messengers, with the latter duo producing the track. The song is taken as a single in several European countries from his first compilation album, My Worlds: The Collection. In the United States and Canada, the song is included on My Worlds Acoustic. According to Bieber, he was inspired by Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" (1988) when writing the song. The song is a contemporary Christian song, while deriving from pop and R&B influences, and using a world music backdrop. It is based primarily upon instruments, however does make small usages of electronic sounds.
"Pray" received generally positive reviews, with critics appreciating the message portrayed in the song. It reached the lower-half on the singles charts in Germany and Austria, and charted in several regions where it was not released as a single such as the United States and Australia. The song's music video premiered on Facebook on December 11, 2010. The video, which also has religious undertones, features clips of places affected by natural disasters, sick children, possessed homes, and more, which are intercut with Bieber performing. Bieber debuted and performed the song on the American Music Awards, accompanied by a full choir.
Music Video Info:In the music video, Bieber highlights several social injustices around the world.[24] Clips are shown from footage of earthquake-torn Haiti, a suffering post-Katrina New Orleans, and Bieber himself visiting sick children in hospital beds.[24] More scenes feature military soldiers being reunited with their families, and homes being possessed because families cannot pay mortgage.[24] The video is intercut with scenes of Bieber performing. Like the song itself, the video also includes religious undertones, including the video ending with the quote, "God speaks in the silence of the heart. Listening is the beginning of prayer."[24] Bill Lamb of About.com likened the video to the saying, "There are times when putting pictures to the words does indeed make a song more powerful than simply listening to the track."[25] Calling the video "outstanding for the holiday season" Lamb said the theme of "bringing hope and joy into the lives of others" related to "the celebrations that bring all of us together in hope for a brighter future for our world."[25]

It was released by Capitol Records on May 2, 2011 as the lead single from the group's upcoming third studio album, Own the Night.[2] "Just a Kiss" was one of the last songs recorded for the album and was inspired by Scott's love relationship. Shayne Ward - Gotta Be Somebody
"Gotta Be Somebody" is the first official single released from Nickelback's sixth studio album, Dark Horse. Originally, the lead single from the album was set to be "If Today Was Your Last Day"[1] but was changed instead to "Gotta Be Somebody". The song was digitally delivered to all formats on September 29, 2008.[2][3] "Gotta Be Somebody" has been covered by American country music singer Bucky Covington in 2009, and English pop singer Shayne Ward in 2010. It was used in a video package for the 2008 WWE Tribute to the Troops show.
Music Video Info:
In October 2008, it was reported that an official video from the commercial shoot had been shot with director Jessy Terrero.[4] However, after claims that the band was dissatisfied with the video, it was scrapped, and it was unknown whether a new video would be made. It was then reported that a new video had been shot in Vancouver with long-time collaborator Nigel Dick.[5] The video debuted at AOL on Monday, December 15, 2008.[6] This was nearly three months following the release of the single, with the late release due to the band having to redo the video for the song. The video for "Gotta Be Somebody" starts out in Outer Space, showing various planets before zooming in on Earth. Nickelback is shown playing at the Colosseum in Rome, which is empty. During the chorus, an earthquake comes and cracks the ground the band is standing on. The band is then shown playing on the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Again, an earthquake begins during the chorus and the band is finally shown playing an outdoor concert to fans in a Southwestern United States desert inside an Aircraft boneyard. The video swept the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards, winning awards for best video, best rock video and best post production.[7]

Shayne Ward - If That's Ok With You
"If That's OK with You" is a song written by Savan Kotecha, Arnthor Birgisson and Max Martin for The X Factor winner Shayne Ward from his second studio album "Breathless". It was released as his fourth single overall, a double A-side with "No U Hang Up".[1] Although due to be released on 19 August 2007 as the first single from "Breathless", its relative underperformance on radio triggered a decision to push the single back until its eventual release with a song that received a more favourable reaction, "No U Hang Up" on 24 September.

Taylor Swift - Back To December
"Back to December" is a song by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. Swift wrote the song and produced it alongside Nathan Chapman. It was sent to country radios on November 15, 2010, by Big Machine Records as the second single from Swift's third studio album, Speak Now. According to Swift, "Back to December" is the first time she ever apologizes to someone in a song. Upon its release as a promotional single, critics speculated that the song is about Taylor Lautner, Swift's ex-boyfriend, although both Swift and Lautner has neither confirmed nor denied these allegations. "Back to December" is considered an orchestral country pop ballad and its lyrics are a remorseful plea for forgiveness for breaking up with a former lover.
"Back to December" was critically acclaimed by critics, who regarded it as one of the highlights of Speak Now. Critics have praised the song for its expressive lyrics, its indelible melody, and Swift's vocal improvement. The song enjoyed commercial success, debuting at number six on the United States Billboard Hot 100, and at number seven in Canada. It also peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot Country Songs. Internationally, the song received moderate success, peaking at number twenty-four in New Zealand, and number twenty-six in Australia.
The song's accompanying music video directed Yoann Lemoine, laments the aftermath of a break-up between Swift and her boyfriend. The music video garnered mixed to positive receptions from critics; some praised the spectacular visual sense in portraying the somber mood while others criticized its inadequate narrative. Swift has performed "Back to December" in several live appearances, notably at the 44th annual Country Music Association Awards and at the 38th American Music Awards.
"Back to December"'s accompanying music video was directed by Yoann Lemoine, who directed the video for Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream, and was filmed in late December 2010 before Christmas day.[29] In an interview with Country Music Television, Lemoine explained that he developed the idea for the video after being inspired from the movie, E.T..[30] He also told MTV News that he wanted the video to be simple yet metaphorical. He added, "I wanted to work on the coldness of feelings in a very visual way, playing with the snow, the distance and sadness."[31][32] He wanted to focus on Swift's look in the video so that she would come off as accessible, saying "I wanted her to perform a very natural way, to make her look very European. This was the main challenge to me. All of Taylor's world is very far away from my culture, but I saw something in her that could be very rough and heartbreaking; far from the princess glittery outfits and glam that she often goes for."[31] Lemoine was allowed to take control of the whole production of the video, although it was Swift's idea to have her character leave the letter for her beloved.[31] Swift's love interest in the video was played by male model, Guntars Asmanis.[33][34] Lemoine commented that Asmanis was the perfect fit for Swift's love interest, saying "I wanted a boy that was fragile and beautiful. I didn't want to go for a hunk or a perfect cheesy boy that would have killed the sincerity of the video."[31] The music video premiered on January 13, 2011, on CMT[35] and Great American Country.[36] Footages of the school and baseball stadium in the video were filmed in Binghamton, New York, in MacArthur Park[37] while scenes with Swift were shot in an old country mansion outside of Nashville.[30]
