Celine Dion - Taking Chances

Song Info:

"Taking Chances" is a single by Celine Dion and written by songwriter Kara DioGuardi and ex-Eurythmics member Dave Stewart's band Platinum Weird, taken from their unreleased self-titled album. The song was originally released in February 2007, and later made famous by a cover version by Céline Dion, released in September 2007. It was also featured in an episode of Fox Network's new show Glee with lead vocals by Lea Michele.

Music Video Info:

The music video, directed by Paul Boyd, was filmed in three days, between September 15-17, 2007 in several different locations, in the Las Vegas area. The video is narrative heavy, as only one of the three shoot days was spent on performance. It includes a guest appearance by Platinum Weird member Dave A. Stewart.[13] He described his cameo appearance as playing "a kind of enigmatic 'boss' character from a James Bond movie," and also commented that it was about 100°F during filming.[14]

The video was released on October 16, 2007. Amazon.com and Columbia Records released also on September 10, 2007 the exclusive premiere of the new Céline Dion song and in-studio video "Taking Chances" on Amazon's website.[15]

Both, the music video and the recording sessions can be found on the Japan only released Ultimate Box.

In early 2008, the video was re-edited to fit the club remix, called Jason Nevins radio edit.

Later, there are existing 2 remix videos, using the Ralphi Rosario & Craig J Vocal Mix and the Ralphi Rosario & Craig J Thick Dub

Celine Dion - A New Day Has Come

Song Info:

"A New Day Has Come" is the lead single from Céline Dion's comeback album A New Day Has Come, released on March 11, 2002.

The song was written by Aldo Nova and Stephan Moccio and produced by Walter Afanasieff and Nova as a piano-driven ballad in 6/8 time. However, the midtempo radio remix co-produced by Ric Wake was released as the lead track. Both versions are included on the album.[1]

The "A New Day Has Come" music video was directed by Dave Meyers and premiered in March 2002.

"A New Day Has Come" was very successful around the world. On the U.S. Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks, the song broke the record for most weeks at number 1: it stayed on top twenty-one weeks. The previous record holders were Phil Collins' "You'll Be in My Heart" and Céline Dion's own "Because You Loved Me," both of which lasted nineteen weeks at number 1. However, as of today, the record has been surpassed, as "Drift Away" by Uncle Kracker featuring Dobie Gray remained twenty-eight weeks at number 1 in 2004. Ironically, it was Céline Dion who almost took the crown from "Drift Away," but "Have You Ever Been in Love" stopped at number 2 for fourteen weeks, which is another record. In the U.S., the single appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 because of airplay only, reaching number 22 (also number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay).

The DVD single was released four months later in the U.S., peaking at number 11 on the Top Music Video and number 16 on the Hot 100 Singles Sales. It has sold 45,000 copies and was certified gold. "A New Day Has Come" CD single was also certified gold in Australia (35,000), Greece (30,000) and Norway (10,000). In the United Kingdom it has sold 110,000 copies.

Dion performed this song five nights a week during her show A New Day... at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas and released it on the Live in Las Vegas - A New Day... DVD in December 2007. In October 2008, "A New Day Has Come" was included on My Love: Essential Collection greatest hits.

Celine Dion - Think Twice

Song Info:

"Think Twice" was a 1961 single by Brook Benton. It hit #11 on the pop charts.

"Think Twice" is the fourth hit single from The Colour of My Love album by Céline Dion. It was released on July 18, 1994 in North America, in October 1994 in the United Kingdom, Australia and Japan, and February 1995 in the rest of the world.[1] The song is rock-influenced and features a guitar solo, one of only a few of Dion's songs to do so, performed by Aldo Nova. The song was written by British songwriters Andy Hill, who had achieved success a decade earlier for his work with Bucks Fizz and Peter Sinfield, a former member of rock group King Crimson.

"Think Twice" became a hit in Europe and Australia, particularly in the UK where it became one of the biggest selling singles of all time.[2]

Two versions of the music video exist: the first was released in August 1994; later because of the huge success in the UK, Céline Dion made a special music video in December 1994. It aired in the UK Top of the Pops television programme.

The B-sides of this single were taken mainly from Dion chante Plamondon album, which was released at that time worldwide. It was also the first time that Dion's English single included French songs as B-sides all over the world.

Céline Dion performed "Think Twice" at the 1995 World Music Awards.

The song went to number 1 all over Europe, including: Ireland (9 weeks at the top), United Kingdom (7 weeks), Belgium Flanders (5 weeks), Netherlands (4 weeks), Norway (4 weeks), Sweden (4 weeks) and Denmark (2 weeks).[3] It was also very successful in Australia reaching number 2. "Think Twice" has sold 1,235,000 copies in the UK and should be certified 2x platinum (for now it's undercertified and remains platinum only). It was also certified platinum in Australia (70,000) and gold in the Netherlands (50,000). According to Nielsen SoundScan the single has sold 50,000 copies in the U.S.

"Think Twice" received an Ivor Novello Award for the Song of the Year in 1995.

The single boosted up The Colour of My Love album sales, which was released a year earlier and already fell off the charts. Thanks to its success the album went to number 1 in countries like: United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, Norway, Belgium and Greece.

Think Twice was included later on the European and Australian editions of All the Way… A Decade of Song greatest hits (1999) and European edition of My Love: Essential CollectionTaking Chances Tour in in selected countries. (2008). Dion performed it lately during her 2008-09

"Think Twice" was covered by Alana Dante in 1996, Maribel Gonzalez in 1999 and Liel Kolet in 2005. It was also performed by Kelly Clarkson on American Idol.

Celine Dion - Then You Look At Me

Song Info:

"Then You Look at Me" is a theme song from the movie Bicentennial Man.[1] It was supposed to be released as the second single from Céline Dion's album All the Way… A Decade of Song, on December 11, 1999.[2]

"Then You Look at Me" was written by James Horner and Will Jennings, who wrote for Dion her 1997 smash hit "My Heart Will Go On."

Unfortunately the Bicentennial Man movie, released on December 13, 1999 and starring Robin Williams, became a flop and the single was cancelled. The second reason was the fact that "That's the Way It Is" became a hit and was still strong on the singles charts around the world. However, "Then You Look at Me" was included as a B-side to the "Live (for the One I Love)," The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "I Want You to Need Me" singles. The movie soundtrack also included the track but in slightly modified version, produced by James Horner and Simon Franglen. The version from Dion's album was produced by David Foster, Horner and Franglen.

"Then You Look at Me" music video, featuring Dion in a futuristic outfit and set in a robot research facility with clips of the film playing on screens in the background, was directed by Bille Woodruff and released at the end of 1999. It was included on Céline Dion's All the Way… A Decade of Song & Video DVD in 2001.

Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now

Song Info:

"It's All Coming Back to Me Now" is a power ballad, written by Jim Steinman.[1] According to Steinman the song was inspired by Wuthering Heights, and was an attempt to write "the most passionate, romantic song" he could ever create.[2] Meat Loaf has said the song was intended for Bat out of Hell II and given to the singer in 1986, but that they both decided to use "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)" for Bat II, and save this song for Bat III.[3][4]

The song has had three major releases, all roughly belonging to the soft rock genre. The first version appeared on the concept album Original Sin, recorded by Pandora's Box. It was then recorded by Céline Dion for her album Falling into You, and her version was a commercial hit, reaching No. 2 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart. Meat Loaf recorded it as a duet with Norwegian singer Marion Raven for Bat III and released it as a single in 2006.

A music video was produced for each of the three versions; death is a recurring theme in all of these videos, fitting in with the suggestion in Virgin's press release for Original Sin that "in Steinman's songs, the dead come to life and the living are doomed to die."[5] This is particularly evident when the dead characters seem to be resurrected in the memories of the main vocalist. Although in the case of Celine Dion's video, the theme is less about the living being doomed and more about a lost love.
