"California King Bed" is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna. The song was written by Andrew Harr, Jermaine Jackson, Priscilla Renea and Alex Delicata, and produced by The Runners, for Rihanna's fifth studio album, Loud (2010). It was released on May 13, 2011 through Def Jam as the album's fourth single. "California King Bed" is a rock song, and was featured in the 2011 "100 Years of Skin Care" Nivea Commercial campaign.

"California King Bed" received mixed reviews from music critics, with some considering it Rihanna's best vocal performance, despite considering the song a weak ballad. "California King Bed" achieved moderate success. It peaked at number one in Poland, while reaching the top five in Australia, Austria, Germany and New Zealand, and making into the top ten on several European countries. The single was certified Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) and Gold by the Recording Industry Association of New Zealand (RIANZ).

An accompanying music video, directed by Anthony Mandler, portrays Rihanna singing about how she is desperate for her lover to show his real feelings. The creative director designed an eighteen feet long custom bed for the video. Rihanna has performed "California King Bed" several times, including at the ACM Awards, along with Sugarland front woman Jennifer Nettles; American Idol, and on NBC's Today show. The song was also included on 2011's Loud Tour.

Rihanna filmed the music video for "California King Bed" in March 2011.^[25] The shots took one day on a stage in West Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The video is almost entirely set in an open-air bedroom by the beach of an ocean. Director of the video was Anthony Mandler, who is a regular collaborator of Rihanna. He directed a dozen music videos for her, including "Russian Roulette" and "Only Girl (In the World)". About the video and his long collaboration with Rihanna, Mandler spoke to MTV News:^[26]

"S&M" is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, taken from her fifth studio album, Loud (2010). It was released as the fourth overall and third international single from the album on January 21, 2011, through Def Jam Recordings. It was written by Mikkel S. Eriksen, Tor Erik Hermansen, Sandy Wilhelm, and Ester Dean, and produced by Stargate and Sandy Vee. Musically, the song derives genres from Eurodance, electro and dance-pop. The lyrics of the song see Rihanna declaring her pleasures.

"S&M" received generally mixed reviews from most of the critics. The song charted successfully peaking within the top ten in twelve countries so far, reaching number one in Australia, Canada, Poland and the United States, number two in Germany and New Zealand, and number three in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It also reached number one on the UK R&B Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs and Pop Songs charts. "S&M" was a commercial success Top 5 on Hot 100 and "S&M (Remix featuring Spears)" was topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, giving tenth number-one single in the US and Spears her fifth number-one in the US.

The accompanying music video for "S&M", directed by Melina Matsoukas, shows Rihanna punishing the members of the media who have hurt her, including gossip blogger Perez Hilton. The video was banned in several countries, while being restricted to nighttime TV-only in others. Additionally in the UK, "S&M" was deemed too raunchy for daytime airplay and has hence been re-edited and re-named "Come On" for BBC radio stations, however other stations play the original version. Rihanna performed the song on the BRIT Awards, in 2011 together with "Only Girl (In the World)" and "What's My Name?".

On April 11, 2011, the song was re-released as a remix single to digital outlets with guest vocals by American recording artist Britney Spears.

"What's My Name?" is a song performed by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna, taken from her fifth studio album Loud (2010). Featuring guest vocals from Canadian rapper Drake, the song was released as the second single from Loud on October 29, 2010 through Def Jam Recordings (Universal Music). The R&B song was produced by Norwegian production duo StarGate, and written by the duo along with Ester Dean, Traci Hale and Drake. "What's My Name?" impacted on Mainstream and Rhythmic radio stations in the United States from October 26, 2010.

Critics praised the song as some of Rihanna's best vocal work to date, for the romantic nature of the song and its sexual tones. There was some negative criticism towards Drake's lyrics which included a sexual innuendo about the square root of 69. The single was a commercial success, topping the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 giving Rihanna her third number one single of 2010 (out of four), as well as her eighth of nine Hot 100 chart topper. It also became Drake's first ever number one single. "What's My Name?" was also particularly successful reaching the top five in France, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway, Scotland and the United Kingdom.

An accompanying music video, directed by Philip Andelman, incorporates a romantic encounter between Rihanna and Drake in a grocery store along with romantic scenes between the pair and Rihanna walking through Manhattan's Lower East Side. "What's My Name?" was also promoted with live performances across both sides of the Atlantic, including Saturday Night Live in America and the series seven finale of The X Factor in the United Kingdom, though the latter performance resulted in an investigation from the British media regulator (Ofcom) for the raunchy nature of Rihanna's outfit.

Music Video Info:

Rihanna shot the music video for the song on September 26, 2010 in New York City with director Philip Andelman.^[26] Parts of the video shot with Drake were filmed on October 27, 2010.^[27] The music video premiered on November 12, 2010 on Rihanna's VEVO channel on YouTube.^[28]

The video starts with different views from the city, then shifts to a store where Drake is speaking to the cashier. Rihanna enters, grabbing his attention. She smiles at him and walks towards a fridge and grabs a milk package. Drake follows her and his verse begins. He holds her hand as he raps his verse, the milk package falls from her hand as she holds his, thus spilling milk on the floor. When Drake's verse is over, Rihanna pushes him and walks away with a smile.

When Rihanna's verse starts, she is shown walking on the street and dancing. Views of people holding instruments and walking on the street are shown, in addition to scenes where Rihanna and Drake are in a bedroom together, flirting, talking and drinking champagne. The final scene shows Rihanna in an outdoor Reggae-inspired night party with the people previously shown are now playing instruments as Rihanna sings and dances. The video ends with Drake kissing Rihanna on her cheek in the bedroom. Some of the performers walking with instruments and seen later in the video performing with Rihanna while she sings were Seth Faulk, NYC sideman and drummer in The Nightmare River Band, who carried and later played the maple snare drum; LeeAnet Noble, of the hit show "STOMP" NYC, who carried and later played the djembe; and William B Johnson, of "Bring in Da Noise, Bring in Da Funk!," who played buckets.
